Environmental Management System Policy Statement

COSMO Services is a company specialising in the maintenance, refurbishment, cleaning and security of commercial and retail properties.

Environmental protection is an integral part of our corporate strategy. We also advocate wider social responsibility values.

We recognise that some of our operations can significantly impact on the environment, and we will take all reasonable steps to minimise that impact, while still keeping sight of our business objectives.

The group is committed to adhering to best Environmental practices whilst carrying out business.

The Company will ensure the availability of Environmental information including that the dissemination of such information is processed through briefing, instruction, training and supervision for all our employees and contractors.

Our commitment to the environment includes continually improving our performance, preventing pollution wherever possible and complying with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards.

In particular, we will:

• Manage our processes so as to avoid or minimise waste.
• Work to minimise our use of energy.
• Seek to influence all our stakeholders, customers, contractors and suppliers, to minimise the impact of vehicle emissions (including airplanes, through flight).  Include environmental considerations in investment decisions.
• Ensure all employees have appropriate training and an awareness of this policy so that it is implemented effectively.
• Develop guidelines with respect to developments in technology, industrial practices and legislation.
• Aim to reduce material use and, use renewable or, recyclable-engineered materials.
• Avoid the use of toxic materials, chemicals.
• Assess actual and potential environmental effects of all activities in all parts of the business.
• Adopt best processes and select the best practicable environmental option.
• Review, monitor, and audit compliance to standards and guidelines including assessing the impact on business activities.
• Strive for continuous improvement.

We will monitor the environmental impact of key elements of our operation, setting objectives and targets against which our performance will be regularly reviewed and taking corrective actions as appropriate.

We acknowledge our responsibilities to the environment and we are fully committed to the prevention of pollution, compliance with current environmental legislation and ensuring the health, safety and welfare of those who may be affected by our business activities.

To achieve our company objectives the directors of Cosmo Services will make available all necessary financial and physical resources. We will take collective responsibility toward being an Environmentally Friendly Company.

We will achieve our environmental objectives by ensuring that environmental concerns remain high in our corporate priorities.

Objectives and targets are set to address significant environmental aspects. These objectives are reviewed at scheduled intervals according to the potential impact to the environment.

We will strive to ensure that all employees, agency staff, contractors, visitors, customers, and any other stakeholders are aware of the environmental impacts of our business, and understand how we can work together in order to meet the needs of our business in a safe and sustainable manner.

We will review and audit our Environment Management System against stated aims and industry best practice.

We will record our environmental performance as a means to improve accountability and to drive continuous improvement within our operations.

We will ensure that employees are made aware of their individual responsibilities as contained within the Integrated Management System by ensuring these responsibilities are effectively communicated.

This policy is documented both in paper and electronic format and is implemented and maintained through our intranet system.
The policy is made available to all of our employees, contractors, customers, suppliers, and other interested parties on request and on the intranet.

Acknowledging our responsibilities for the environment in general we are fully committed to compliance with applicable current legislation, industry standards, other requirements that relate to our environmental aspects, and those to which our organisation subscribes.

We will meet the needs of our customers in a safe and sustainable manner. As part of this programme we are committed to preventing pollution and meeting quantitative targets as set out by legislative agreements as found in, for example, the Climate Change and Effluent Consent Agreements.

As a responsible company our vision is simple; we will improve our operations to achieve maximum efficiency whilst minimising waste; ensuring that we maintain adequate controls of those environmental impacts we have identified, and successfully maintaining the ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 9001 (Quality) Standards.
As part of our management process, we identify the significant aspects, hazards and opportunities relating to our operational activities and processes.

We set clearly defined, specific and measurable objectives and targets for achievement of our vision and to reduce our risks.
We internally report our performance in managing our Environmental aspects and key performance indicators, both good and bad as a means to improve accountability and to drive the continual improvement of our operations and business effectiveness.
We review and audit our Integrated Management System, and ensure that it remains relevant and appropriate to our organization.
The HSE Director has overall responsibility for the Environmental Policy and its implementation within the company.

This Environmental Policy will form part of the induction and briefing process.

It will be reviewed at least annually and changes will be made if required due to legislation or company organisational changes.
This policy will be made public by issue to all clients, by display on office notice boards and by inclusions on the intranet.
